love the podcast. Can you find out if there’s any chance they can re-issue the platinum collections one to three on Blu-ray. The prices are outrageous. Thanks
I just love this podcast! I could listen to the three of you talk all day. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the current team at Warner Archive are dedicated to satisfying the animation fans. From re-releasing the super stars cropped shorts to the proper aspect ratio to having the platinum collections reprinted on bluray to combat scalpers, and now including an extra cartoon on the next release to make up for Double or Mutton error - George and Jerry listen to the fans and I just couldn’t appreciate them more. PS … 1936’s Don’t Look Now by Tex Avery would be a most welcome debut on Collector’s Vault Vol 2 🤞
I have been chasing after many of these Looney Tunes cartoons ever since the 1980s; the same goes for the classic MGM cartoons, fully uncut, if possible! I am very excited to hear this news that there will be a Looney Tunes collectors choice vault series being started, and of course I know why now thanks to this podcast and hints beforehand as to just what choices will be made. Of course I’m always hoping that the 25 cartoons new to Blu-ray and two DVD will be the deepest dive I’m hoping for! I am a big fan of pre-cold Hollywood, both live action and animated, and there are Looney Tunes and Mary melodies that fall under this category. I cannot wait to hear the list; that’s all I’m going to say. I have speculated many many times before, so most people know exactly what I’m waiting for. I am very happy to hear that “the Bugs Bunny show“ will possibly see the light of day, but I don’t expect that anytime soon. It will take a lot to find all the right elements of the cartoons so that we get the absolute perfect restorations. Good luck to the archive in doing this! I know you won’t stop until the best stuff is out there.
Hey Tim, my name is West. Love the Podcast. You and George are often singing the praises of Warner Bros Imaging who do the restoration work. How about bringing some of those folks onto the podcast? I’d love to hear more about film restoration as a niche industry — and in particular I’d love to know how those folks got into it! What was their career path? Just an idea 🙂 Keep being awesome.
great show! Thanks for all you do.
